©A Mixed Jamaican in Multi-Cultural
and Racist Britain?
Alesia Greenidge
The Author
A qualified Administrator, Alesia Greenidge, began political activism at age seventeen. After being disillusioned with mainstream politics, she decided to pursue her real interest in community politics that were not adequately being tackled by the three main British political parties. Alesia became serious about Race and Cultural Awareness, after joining an anti-apartheid group in 1989.
She has learnt how to challenge racism and other social issues from Elders, professional Race advisors and Activists already involved in community work before she decided to join them. As a consequence she has gained Cultural knowledge, good activist experience and is committed to women’s rights and equal opportunities. She continues to actively support independent anti-racist initiatives, Afrika History month, October Black History month events and Kwanzaa celebrations held in London.
Alesia born a Christian has now accepted original Afrikan Christianity, and therefore does not follow Eurocentric Christian religion. She has found that her new Theology instructs Alesia, to take the view of the Gospel of Jude, concerning same sex relationships, that are referred to in the latter part of Chapter 7 and Chapter 9. Please be advised that non-hetrosexual people should not be persecuted because of their sexuality, and have every right to exist, and that is clearly written in the Book. Likewise the right to be able to freely live according to Christian Scripture should also be respected, even within a secular society or multi-faith environment.
